21 July 2000: Ann Arbor - CANCELLED

North's Joseph Mancuso comes to Amer's Deli on State Street in Ann Arbor for a nice informal evening of originals and ecclectically selected covers. Set is from 8pm to 11pm and totally free. Come on down, have a coffee or sandwich, make a request or two, and hang out.
This show was cancelled by the venue, and word didn't reach me until the 11th hour, in this case because of problems with the booking agency. At the core, though, this was another case of the typical difficulties with live music in Ann Arbor: with the Art Fair crowds, the venue couldn't spare the room or complications of a performing artist. Take that as you will.

25 June 2000: Ann Arbor

(private function)

24 June 2000: Ann Arbor - CANCELLED

North returns to the Lonely Hearts Club on Washington Street (map available) for a headlining set. Show time, cover and opening guest(s) TBA.
This show was cancelled due to the venue, the Lonely Hearts Club, closing up shop earlier this month. The reasons for this were apparently many, but included a lack of support on the part of local residents for tolerating the venue's music and crowds. We're bummed, both for the loss of our gig as well as for the loss of a great venue for live music here in town.

10 June 2000: New Hope, PA

North joins a daylong lineup of artists for BeneFest 2000, the first annual benefit festival being held at New Hope - Solebury High School in New Hope, PA. For the record, this show was cancelled last minute due to a conflict between the booking agent and the venue manager, so if you showed up and we weren't there, that's why. The band who WAS there, however, a group called Under Construction, was very good, and friendly enough to let me play an opening set for them at 7:30 before they started. We're still on good terms with everyone involved in the mix-up, and actually hope to be playing shows with Under Construction and at the ERC very soon.

17 July 1999: Ann Arbor

North returns to open for folk favorite Brian Lillie and the Squirrel Mountain Orchestra at the Gypsy Cafe in Kerrytown, Ann Arbor. Show starts about 9pm, cover $4 or so. Our last show with Brian was one of our best, and for a packed house - we hope you can join us for this one!
